POSITION SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist (PT), is responsible for performing an age and diagnosis specific assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patient's/resident's/client's individual needs. This included assessment and evaluation of cognitive, sensory, neuromuscular, physiological, psychosocial and functional status. The PT develops a plan of care, initiates, performs and manages treatment as indicated, assesses response to treatment, and assists with discharge planning. The PT utilizes exercise, soft tissue mobilization, joint manipulation, manual therapy techniques, equipment, and physical and electrical agents to improve strength, balance coordination and range of motion, and to decrease pain to restore optimal mobility and functional ability. The PT provides education related to the treatment program, disease process, and prevention of further injuries to the patient/resident/client, family/caregiver and other members of the healthcare team. The PT delegates, as appropriate, aspects of care to other Restorative Therapy personnel based on their preparation and job description.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree or Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy or a certification in Physical Therapy preferred.
- Physical Therapist license in Montana.
- Possession or eligibility for a Montana Driver's license preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
