Description
The homemaker performs the combined duties of dining services and housekeeping. The homemaker will cook and serve breakfast to residents; perform housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and neatness of neighborhood surroundings; and help create an environment that reflects the mission, vision and values of Lakeview Village.
Duties
- Prepares and serves high quality food in accordance with all pertinent safety and health regulations, guidelines and standards.
- Understanding of liberalized diets, and special food requirements.
- Follows menus and recipes correctly, making any necessary or requested substitutions appropriately.
- Maintains clean spaces in the neighborhood, including resident rooms, neighborhood common spaces, as well as support spaces and equipment.
- Takes temperatures of foods and equipment and maintains proper documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinates work with the neighborhood caregivers to ensure the housekeeping needs of the neighborhood are met within the staffing resources of the neighborhood
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Serve Safe course is required.
- At least 6 months experience in long-term care setting in housekeeping, activity, laundry or dietary departments is preferred.
- Must be willing and able to work weekends.
